According to the Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc., or NRDC, humans produce 300 million tons of plastic each year worldwide. When utilizing single-use plastics, the least you could do it to recycle it after use to help reduce its environmental footprint. However, only a small portion of people take the conscious effort to actually do so because 91% of all plastic still ends up in landfills or in the environment.
